LDAP

LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is an internet protocol used for accessing information directories, available as an integral part of (or as an add-on to) many modern operating systems (such as Microsoft's Active Directory product).

HumanConcepts now provides integration with LDAP directories, enabling OrgPlus Desktop and Enterprise to use LDAP as a data source to create organizational charts and corporate directories. If a company manages employee records within LDAP and each record contains supervisor information, that data can now be directly accessed to chart, view, analyze and model the entire organization.

OrgPlus for LDAP allows employees to view accurate organizational charts and gives executives and management a critical tool for organizational planning, analysis and modeling.

LDAP can also be used with OrgPlus Enterprise as an external security system. OrgPlus Enterprise can query LDAP to authenticate users and optionally to determine a user's role (for role-based security), thus allowing you to leverage your existing security infrastructure and reduce the load on your IT department.

The HR-OCI interface is available with both OrgPlus Enterprise and OrgPlus Professional.
