OrgPlus Enterprise / Re: Enterprise Modeler download
« Last post by ChrisL_HC on August 28, 2009, 07:09:43 AM »
Dear metro,

There is currently no .MSI file for the OrgPlus Enterprise Modeler and there are no plans for creating one in future releases.  My recommendation is to host the .CAB file on a local networked location and allow users to access ActiveX modules from trusted or local intranet location.

You can deploy the modeler locally using the below instructions:

1. Download the modeler .CAB and XML files for the desired Modeler (7 or 8)

7 Modeler:
CAB: http://download.humanconcepts.com/downloads/op7/ope_modeler/modeler.cab
XML: http://download.humanconcepts.com/downloads/op7/ope_modeler/modeler_version.xml

8 Modeler:
CAB: http://download.humanconcepts.com/downloads/ope/modeler/v8/modeler.cab
XML: http://download.humanconcepts.com/downloads/ope/modeler/v8/modeler_version.xml

2. These two files need to be placed in the same folder and hosted on a web server accessible to the OPE Server (the folder could be local to the OPE server) and to the end users.

3. Update the Modeler Path configuration at Admin | Preferences| Modeler Path to point to the network location of the modeler.cab file.  If the update is successful, the version and the build numbers are displayed, andnd OPE can successfully serve the Modeler installer to the end users.

This may help in regards to the ActiveX inhibition for your users.

Dear mh53j_fe,

Currently there are no released versions of OrgPlus Enterprise that supports SQL Server 2008.  There are plans for our 2010 release to include this capability but there is no set date or version at this time.

OrgPlus Enterprise / Enterprise Modeler download
« Last post by metro on August 26, 2009, 04:43:48 AM »
Our users don't have local admin rights on their computer.  This is restricting the ActiveX component from being downloaded when running Enterprise Modeler.

As a work around, our IT dept. is looking into pushing out the modeler files via Microsoft SMS.  However, our IT resource is requesting an .MSI file, whereas the downloaded file is a .CAB file.

Is there an .MSI file for the enterprise modeler?

OrgPlus Enterprise / Count of Dir. Subordinates
« Last post by ar003bo on August 18, 2009, 06:32:13 AM »
Hi,

The Count of Dir.Subordinates is showing incorrectly in OPE but when I save it to OPX to view in the Desktop Tool, the formula is working perfectly. Did anybody else experience this problem?

We are currently on OPE 3.5.2.

Thank you,
archana

OrgPlus Enterprise / OrgPlus Enterprise 3.5.3 Release Notes - 30 July 09
« Last post by ChrisL_HC on July 30, 2009, 08:42:33 AM »
Build: 1301 Release Notes

Summary:

This release of OrgPlus Enterprise is version 3.5.3. It is a patch release for OrgPlus Enterprise 3.5 and resolves the following issues:

Enhancements/Resolved Issues:

  • Blueprint: Copy function has been removed from Blueprint module. Users can no longer create multiple copies of a Blueprint.
  • Blueprint: The action process has been enhanced to first simulate the action process prior to writing changes to the database. If errors are detected during the simulation, the action process fails and no changes are written back to the database.
  • Blueprint: Refreshing data in a domain makes all active Blueprints in the domain unactionable.
  • Blueprint: Sorted staging area records can now be moved into the chart.
  • Box Layout: Pictures displayed inside chart boxes correctly scale to fit the entire picture area.
  • Directory: Search results pagination no longer displays the same record on multiple pages.
  • External Filter (SAP): Resolved enumeration error with SAP external field level security and directory search.
  • External Filter (SAP): Resolved internal error with SAP external filter field level security and the chart.
  • Publish to PDF: Alternate Managers displayed in boxes are included in charts published to PDF for users without administrator privileges.
  • Refresh Data: System cache is being correctly cleared after the data is refreshed
  • Security: User's security settings are no longer saved across multiple sessions
  • Templates: Resolved ArgumentOutOfRange exception occurring when loading legacy templates.

Known Issues and Limitations:

  • Blueprint: Multi-Record boxes cannot be the top position in a Blueprint. Creating a Blueprint with a multi-record box as the top position results in only a single record of the multi-record box appearing in the Blueprint.
  • Blueprint: Box shadows are lost when publishing Blueprints to PDF and PowerPoint.

The issue in this case was that only the schema was copied over, and not the actual contents of the application DB.  OrgPlus Enterprise stores all configuration, data and various other items in the application database.  If restoring an application DB from one server to another, the below instructions should be followed:

  • From the original SQL server, both the OPE DB and the state DB should be backed up fully.
  • After restoration of both DBs in the new environment, the DB logins should be deleted from the DBs (Expand the DB, go to Security, then Users, and delete the OPE application DB users from both the OPE and state DBs)
    • If there is an existing login for the SQL server that existed with the same name as the OPE DB user, delete it as well on the new server. Recreate that user with the same exact name and same password used previously as a LOGIN for the SQL server (not as a user in the OPE DBs)
[li] Lastly, map the newly created SQL Server Login user to both the OPE DB and the state DB and ensure that the user is a DBO for both.

You should now have that login as a user for both DBs

These steps will ensure successful and continued use of a restored DB on a new server.

Chris

Thanks for the response.

I do think that this would be a useful addition to the OPE functionality, so would like you to progress a feature request.

Dear msl,

Reports are not supported in OPE and are not retained in the template when uploaded to OPE.  There are currently no plans in implementing this feature in a future release.  If you like, I can submit a feature request for engineering review to see if it might be feasible in a future release.
